Review Zac Efron (almost) sheds his High School Musical image with a film that appeals to an older audience rather than to a 'tween' one.

There are great similarities between '17 Again' and films such as Big and 13 Going On 30, except in this case, the main character Mike O'Donnell travels backwards in time and is allowed to relive the teenage section of his life, but in the current time period.

Overall the film was easy to watch, fairly well acted, comical at times (particularly the interaction with supporting actor Thomas Lennon) and much more grown up than expected - appealing not just to Efron fans but to parents with kids too.
Review This film gave much more than i had anticipated. Thinking of more high school cheese and all that, well the film is more deep. Zac efron did some good and convincing acting in a difficult role. You will really notice this when compared old Matt's acting(chandler from friends)-dont worry its short! Ned (thomas lennon)was particularly hilarious also.

the story tells of Matt, a middleaged man with a troublesome relationship with his wife and 2 teen kids, on the verge of losing everything. His life, job and family is heading down a bad track as he wonders what "could have been" if his life had taken a different path. Reminded me somewhat of the whole "i could have been a professional footballer but i played with the big kids and injured my leg!" which seems to have affected a freakishly large percentage of the male uk population.

Anyway, his body becomes "17 again" so he can live out this dream. However Dad soon learns that instead of wollowing in self pity he is at risk of losing the b
Review Life has not gone well for Mike O'Donnell (Matthew Perry). His wife Scarlett (Leslie Mann) has kicked him out. His kids, Maggie (Michelle Trachtenberg) and Alex (Sterling Knight) want nothing to do with him.

When he tells the janitor at the high school he'd love to go back and do it all again, he suddenly finds himself back in his 17 year old body (now played by Zac Efron). Getting his best friend Ned (Thomas Lennon) to claim to be his father, he enrolls in high school. But why has Mike become 17 again? Can he solve all his problems with a second chance?

I guessed going into this where the story was going, and I was right. Heck, the age changing movie is nothing new. But this movie offers an enjoyable take on the familiar premise. It's funny at times and tender at others. And the humor doesn't reach too far into the awkward humor bucket, something I find more cringe inducing than funny most of the time.

When I first heard about the casting, I did have to questio
Review 17 Again is essentially the movie "Big" in reverse. Mike O'Donnell (Matthew Perry) is in a crap job, in the middle of a divorce and blames all his unhappiness on the fact that he married his high school sweetheart when he got her pregnant.

Magically, he suddenly finds himself transported back into his 17 year old body. Like in "Big", he eventually realises that he was happier as he was before (hope I didn't spoil the ending but let's face it, it was never gonna end any other way!).

I found 17 Again really great fun to watch and am surprised to say it was because of Zac Efron. I haven't saw him anything besides Hairspray (not a HSM fan!) but found him utterly charming in this. Very funny, hugely likeable and the support cast were great too (especially Leslie Mann and Thomas Lennon).

This is a fun film for everyone and even if you're not a Zac Efron groupie, you just might be won over!
Review I really did enjoy this film; I thought it was a fresh take on an overdone plot. It is the performances in this film that set it apart from others of the same genre. Zac Efron proves he is not just a pretty face that sings and dances and brings life to his character, his performance is helped along by the brilliant performance of Tom Lennon who is so funny in his role of Ned.
The only problem I have with this version of the DVD is that it does not contain the same amount of special features as its blu-ray counter part which I found highly disappointing!
